Let’s introduce a new feature that should simplify the daily work of your operations managers and your mobile teams: conditional fields! 🙌
For reminder, the AntsRoute platform allows its users to create as many custom fields as needed. Our customers particularly appreciate this function! For your business, you may need to manage a large amount of additional fields, but they do not necessarily have to be filled in by the field staff under certain conditions. That’s why, to save your drivers time, we’ve added a new feature that allows you to determine which fields are conditional and which ones are mandatory. Here we go, we explain how it works! 👇
In simple words, the conditional fields allow displaying extra fields depending on some variables and on the answers entered by the drivers in a previous field. As you can see, conditional fields are only available for custom fields filled in during the task completion from the mobile application.
For example, if your drivers are allowed to collect payment on site, you can ask them to indicate if the customer is making payment at the time of delivery or visit. If so, then ask your drivers to enter the payment method.
With this feature, you can save operators time in data analysis and simplify the daily life of your mobile teams by asking them to fill in only the relevant fields. No doubt: your drivers or technicians will thank you!
To save even more time, you can apply a condition to a category that includes several fields. In other words, you can decide to display a category and the different fields that it contains according to a condition.
To access this feature, you need to go to the “Settings” module and click on the “Custom Fields” tab and choose the “On Mobile Application” option. In order to add a conditional field, you must of course have previously created at least one category and possibly a first custom field. Once this is done, click on the “Create a field” button and fill in the requested information. You can now click on “Filter” to select a condition among the variables and other custom fields. And voilà. ✨
Note: To access this feature, you must update the mobile app from the Play Store or App Store.
No matter what your business is, your field workers may have to fill in some information when completing a delivery or a work order from the mobile application. That’s why our technical team has just added a function allowing you to make custom fields mandatory. To do so, you simply have to check the “mandatory” box when creating a field from the AntsRoute platform. Then, drivers will have to fill in this field to validate the tasks.
